Easy!Gibson Pre War Style Bell Shaped Faux Mother of Pearl also know as Pearloid or plastic, celluloid looking mother of pearl, Truss Rod Covers. These are for Gibson style 2 and style 11 banjos. These have a 1-15/16" Screw Hole Spacing just like the original truss rod covers from the pre World War II Days. The screw holes are of the proper 1/8" diameter, so there is no reaming or alterations are necessary. These truss rod covers are .030" thick and do NOT have rounded or tapered sides like the molded ones that were available in the 1990s, and they were never available in mother of toilet seat, as this material is affectionately know in the trade. These look and feel just like the real deal from the 1930s and 1940s with squared sides! In fact, the picture in this listing where the 2 truss rod covers are resting side-by-side shows an original from the 1930s on the left. It's a bit warped from all the time that has passed, but it sure does show how good these are! These are pre-yellowed and are ever so slightly opaque. The amount of yellowing can vary a bit from one old banjo to another but this is a great middle of the road color for these old banjos! In fact, the pictures of the TB-2 and the TB-11 neck are both wearing one of these reproduction truss rod covers!PLEASE NOTE: These truss rod covers will only fit Gibson Banjos and Mandolins... not guitars. ***These truss rod covers will NOT fit imported banjos and mandolins from China or elsewhere***Beginning in about 1937 or so Gibson started making slightly larger truss rod covers and changed again in 1943 (or somewhere around there) and kept changing again and again, so... these are for pre war Gibson Banjos and Loar style mandolins and their reproductions. Please measure the hole spacing on your instrument before you purchase just to make sure. Missing your old truss rod cover and looking for one that will match? Building a reproduction banjo neck and don't want to settle for pretty close, or something not at all like the original? This is it! These are New Old Stock. I only have a few of these from an old stockpile here in my shop and I am only selling off part of them, so get them while you can because once they are gone... they are gone! Don't let these get away! Richie Dotson Acoustic Box LLC Chesterfield, Virginia USA
