West Creek 3 (12073), United States of America, Richmond, VirginiaManager - Credit AccountingCapital One is seeking a highly motivated professional to join the Controllers Accounting Department as a Manager supporting the Credit Accounting function. This role leads our internal and external reporting and analysis of the Allowance for Credit Losses (ACL) and Credit results. This role will work closely with our finance, risk management, line of business accounting, and external reporting partners to 'tell the story' of the ACL and Credit each quarter and deliver key Credit disclosures and analytics. Primary responsibilities include managing accounting, reporting and analytical activities related to the ACL and Credit results.As an Accounting Manager, you will leverage your Accounting and Financial Analysis expertise and apply your strategic and analytical skills to address major Controllers challenges. You will do it all in a collaborative environment that values your insights, encourages you to take on new responsibilities, promotes continuous learning, and rewards innovation. We proactively communicate with our partners and leadership, and help shape priorities by analyzing data, gathering metrics, identifying pain points and rationalizing business processes . Detailed activities and responsibilities include:Manage the ACL and credit quality disclosure processes to ensure consistent and accurate internal management and external SEC and Regulatory reporting,Serve as a subject matter expert over ACL and credit quality metrics,Communicate ACL and credit results to stakeholders on a quarterly basis,Set the reporting team agenda and lead projects, driving and influencing decisions on strategic imperatives or special topics,Manage your area of the team to elevate associate performance, create a positive environment and build and maintain a high performing teamBuild and leverage relationships with business partners, including risk management and finance, to understand their processes and results,Create dynamic credit analytics and present analysis clearly and concisely for executive leadership,Review quarterly journal entries and monthly account reconciliations,Leverage new and existing technologies to enhance reporting and analytics,Support ACL and credit compliance activities for management, internal audit and external audit groups by providing documentation and addressing queriesGeneral responsibilities:Create connections across the team and organization to drive collaborationLeverage sound business judgment to evaluate analytical results and formulate recommendationsShare expertise and insights with business partnersCollaborate with the team to prioritize projects and support large scale Controllers initiatives Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Bachelors' degree or military experienceAt least 5 years of experience in accounting, external financial reporting, audit, or finance, or a combination Preferred Qualifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license2+ years of experience in banking, financial services, or a combination1+ years of people management experience1+ years of experience with Accounting Systems such as Peoplesoft, SAP or Oracle Financials1+ years of experience with Reporting systems such as Onestream, Tableau, Google Data StudioAbility to reach well-reasoned conclusions on financial reporting and disclosure issuesStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to coordinate work across a team and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentStrong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skillsAt this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.Capital One offers a comprehensive, competitive, and inclusive set of health, financial and other benefits that support your total well-being.
