Say hey to Alan, a gentle giant. He's the one, and is nothin' but love. You will fall for him the moment you meet him. Alan is a fan favorite with the staff and volunteers. He is good with other dogs and loves the company of people. An oversized lap dog. He knows basic commands and is enjoyable to walk on leash. A sweet, affectionate, all around wonderful companion who is patiently awaiting his new place to call home.Adoption processFill out an application to adopt. A small back ground is done to confirm that the adopters have not been convicted of animal neglect and/or domestic violence (there is a strong link between the two). If approved, it's a $10.00 adoption fee for the city, plus the cost of the spay/neuter. The spay/neuter fee varies of the species, sex and weight.Shelter locationOur shelter is at 507 Station Street, Hopewell VA 23860. We are located behind the downtown fire department. If you are using a GPS device to locate our facility we strongly suggest that you use the address of 200 S. Hopewell Street. That address will put you in front of the Fire Department that we are located about 200 yards behind. **YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A CITY RESIDENT TO ADOPT FROM OUR FACILITY** HOURS OF OPERATION:10AM-2PMMonday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Friday/SaturdayBy APPOINTMENT ONLY ON:Thursdays and Sundays
